He has chosen a relatively rare technique in Vietnam to make his drawings cum paintings. He uses oil pastel, actually a fine art version of children’s crayons, and this immediately infuses a frenetic quality to his image making. The lines are active and appear to vibrate all over the paper ‘s surface. The colors are usually earthy and his composition is restrained and his crayoning highly textural. Many of his works are sparse and minimal which results in a warm elegance.
